VERSE OF THE WEEK
The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word,[b] and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3
HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM/WATER BAPTISM
“John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence” Acts 1:5.
The Greek term for baptised in the New Testament is ‘baptizo’, meaning to be fully wet or submerged in water. The process was performed by John the Baptist who submerged people in water. Water baptism reveals that a person is saved from judgement and they have a good conscience towards God as quoted in 1 Peter 3:21. Baptism with the Holy Ghost is poured out upon believers through Jesus Christ as stated by John the Baptist and experienced by the Apostles as quoted in Acts 2:4. Baptism in the spirit brings the individual into a spiritual union with Christ and they consequently become a part of the body of Christ (the Church) as stated in 1 Corinthians 12:13. Baptism in the spirit also places the believer into the experience of Christ's death to sin, burial of the old man and being raised to a new life (Romans 6:1-4).
