GOD REVEALED AS FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:”
Deuteronomy 6:4

  • We believe that there is one eternal God known as Elohim and Yahweh according to the Hebrew language of the bible. God declared that he is one, the meaning of the word 'one' in Hebrew is ‘echad’ Duet 6:4.  Echad has various implications, such as numerical one, first in terms of priority, one of a kind, but most importantly, it means properly united. The concept is that God is the only supreme being, no other God exists, and God is a unified unit.

  • The unified nature of God is mysterious and involves a shared essence with the ‘word (logos) of God’, which is Jesus Christ John 1:1-2. Colossians 2:2 indicates there is a mystery (something not revealed) concerning the father and the mystery involves Jesus; "The mystery of God, and of the Father, and Christ;" (KJV). The mystery revealed is that Christ is the person in whom God has placed his treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Therefore, the complete understanding of the nature of God may not be fully understood by everyone without Christ.

  • God is revealed through the human person of Jesus Christ (John 1: 1,2,14). Jesus is the full expression of God in human form and shares the same essence; Jesus is the unique and only Son of God. (Heb1:3,5)

  • The Holy Spirit is God’s spiritual and personal presence at work in the World (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17). The Spirit is also God and identified as the Lord (Acts 5: 3,4; II Cor 3:18).

  • The Holy Spirit imparts the Christian experience of the Father and Son, dwelling in the believer’s life (John 14:16-20).
