VERSE OF THE WEEK
The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word,[b] and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3
SANTIFICATION
“That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour” 1 Thessalonians 4:4
The New Testament word for sanctification is ‘hagiasmos’; it reflects a state of purity of heart and life in the soul.
The bible teaches that sanctification is achieved on behalf of believers through Jesus Christ:1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” Sanctification is initiated when saved and progressive throughout the Christian life. The result of sanctification is a life surrendered to righteousness and Holiness Rom 6:22. Sanctification is outwardly demonstrated in the Christian, separated from evil vices and conduct II Corinthians 6:14-17.
Christians are chosen by God to be sanctified by believing the truth of God’s word instead of being led into false views concerning righteousness II Thessalonians chapter 2:13. Progressive sanctification can be achieved by following the truths revealed by the word of God, which is essential for developing spiritual growth and maturity towards a Christ-like attitude John 17:17.
